Property Details

4,273 Deeded Acres

The owners of the Holmstrom Sheep Creek Ranch are conservatively grazing the ranch, only running 200 cow-calf pairs from May 1st through the month of October. Although the ranch encompasses 4,273 deeded acres along with a National Forrest lease, the owners are only running on approximately 2,400 deeded acres. Due to the conservative grazing plan of the current owners, the range conditions are among some of the best in the surrounding area. Pair the range conditions of the ranch with the amount of water it has, and you have what every rancher is looking for, a contiguous block of land, underutilized with an abundance of water. Water resources on the ranch include several wells, approximately 150 miner’s inches of water, and miles of Moose Creek, Little Moose Creek, Indian Creek and Calf Creek, all of which empty into over three miles of privately held Sheep Creek.

Wildlife Resources

The Holmstrom Sheep Creek Ranch and its location in the Little Belt Mountain Range has phenomenal views from anywhere on the ranch and offers endless recreational opportunities. With private access to over three miles of Sheep Creek, the avid fly fisherman is provided the opportunity to cast a dry fly to the large numbers of wild trout that inhabit the waters that flow through the ranch. The seclusion of over 4,273 deeded acres surrounded by National Forrest provides ample opportunity for the avid hunter to pursue whitetail and mule deer, large numbers of elk, mountain lions, black bear, and healthy populations of upland birds. The mixture of mature Aspens, heavily timbered draws, and Sheep Creek meadows, provide what every outdoorsman is looking for.
