~25 acres +/-
Seasonal Heggen Creek
The beautiful log home on this acreage, tucked away close to Heggen Creek and the Custer National Forest, is a picturesque eastern Montana setting. The home is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath log home that is and has been well kept and recently had a tasteful and extensive basement remodel. Out of the nearly 25 acres, some ground is into hay production, while the balance is fenced for livestock and has great grass for horses or a few cattle. Ekalaka, MT, the county seat for Carter County, is under a 10 minute drive from the property.
Perimeter fencing is in good repair with ample water for livestock.
South east Montana is known for its dry, cold winters and warm to hot summers with average precipitation being 16.81 inches annually.
Heggen Creek runs seasonally from spring run-off water and heavy rains. There is a water well that is located on the property and used for the home and stock purposes.
South east Montana is an outstanding sportsman’s destination. Local hunters and others travel to the region to hunt quality, big game species such as mule deer, white tailed deer, elk, antelope, and upland birds. With a vast amount of public ground, literally within sight of the front porch, one could occupy a fall traversing the rolling pine hills and never step foot in the same track twice.
Recreationally there is anything you could think of to do outdoors. Camping is close with several state parks, the closest being Medicine Rock State Park to the north only 30 minutes. The touristy Black Hills of South Dakota are not far off either, as one could travel there and back in a day’s time fairly easily.
Approximately $1200 annually.
This property is great in that it is move in ready, well cared for, and has the acreage available to have horses, a few cattle, show steers, or other animals.
