Property Details

9,651 Deeded Acres

Historically this ranch has been run as a cow/calf operation. The Sarpy Creek Grass Ranch is just a small portion of what was a much larger operation. The past manager has represented that this area has historically been 25 to 30 acre per animal unit country. For the 2023 season, this property will have 1200 yearlings on it for 4/5 months, depending on this years rainfall.

While new management is in place, the past manager has been on the ranch for 45 years and has been the manager for the past 13 years. Every aspect of this property has been taken care of as if it was their own. On good to above average rainfall years, these managers represent that they could easily put up hay on up to 940 acres. The Map Right map below shows those acres highlighted in green.

A fire swept through this country in 2020 leaving a path of destruction for most! For the Sarpy Creek Grass Ranch, the fire cleaned up some sage brush, and enhanced the quality of the grass on approximately 3,840 acres. For the 2020-2022 seasons, the managers just grazed these pastures, instead of putting up any hay. The video attached, shows video taken on June 30th, 2022. All fences and cross fences have been repaired since the fire and are in good condition.

While we are marketing this property as a “Grass Ranch”, it is not uncommon to see large populations of mule deer, antelope, and the occasional elk feeding in the hay meadows.
